Provincial Grand Lodge Caravan.

Bro. James L. Jack, P.G.M. was presented with £15 for the Caravan by Brethren who attended the Reigning Masters Degree. 

 

Lodge Meridian 1779 

The Lodge have recently made two donations to non Masonic charities. A cheque for £125.00 was presented to the Aveyron Centre in Burnbank, and a cheque for £125.00 was also presented to the Dalziel Day Centre Hospice.

New Caravan Fund.

Bro. Adam Blackley, President of the 166 Senior Citizens Club presented a cheque for £200 to the P.G.M. for the New Caravan Fund on behalf of the Members of the Club. The P.G.M. expressed his delight that the Senior Citizens had been so active in their Fund Raising for the Caravan.

Lodge St. Bryde 579 report that they have given a total of £450 to Local Non Masonic Charity organisations. Gateway Club - £50, Cancer Research £100, Muiredge Primary School £100, St. John The Baptist School £100, Uddingston Girl Guides £50, The African Mission £50.

 

Provincial Grand Lodge Caravan.

Bro. James L. Jack, Provincial Grand Master attended Lodge St. Bryde No. 579 on 28th. May and after the meeting was delighted to be presented with a cheque for £250 for the Provincial Caravan by Bro. At the Regular Meeting of the Lodge on 21st. May 2008, Bro. Harry Simpson, Right Worshipful Master presented a cheque for £200 to “Pathfinder Dogs” who train dogs for the blind.

Lodge Buchanan No. 1499.

Bro. James L. Jack, Provincial Grand Master attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge Buchanan this evening.

Bro. Archibald Fotheringham, Right Worshipful Master reported on the recent Sponsored Walk which Brethren of the Lodge organised in support of the Provincial Grand Lodge New Caravan. The total raised by the Brethren amounted to a fantastic £2,065 !

Bro Alex Watson P.M. No233 and Committee member of Eddlewood Bowling Club, organised a Masonic Charity Game on Saturday 3rd May at Eddlewood Bowling Club to raise cash for the Kilbryde Hospice. The total amount raised on the day was £1020.00

Lodge Old Monkland St. James No. 177.

The Lodge held a Charity Boxing Evening in association with the Four Isles Amateur Boxing Club on Friday 8th. February 2008 in aid of Yorkhill Children`s Foundation. The event raised the fantastic sum of £11,000 for this Non Masonic Charity. YES ! that figure was £11,000 ! What a superb effort by the Right Worshipful Master and Brethren of the Lodge.

Lodge Airdrie St. John No. 166.

The Lodge Secretary reports that Annual Fund Raising by the Lodge has raised a fantastic sum of £3,950, which includes £800 from The Annual Burns Supper. The sum was donated to local Non – Masonic Charities which are supported by the Lodge.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this great Fund Raising effort.

 

Cambuslang Royal Arch Lodge No. 114.

A presentation of £850 was made by the Lodge to the Macmillan Nurses Cancer Charity.

Bros. Laird McDonald and Craig McKechnie raised this fantastic sum as a result of a West Highland Way walk.

Lodge Robert Burns No. 440.   Non –Masonic Charity.

Attached is a photograph of a presentation of a cheque, on Saturday 22nd December, to Enable (Baillieston), (our 2007 nominated charity) for the sum of £4492.00, which was the amount raised by the Lodge over the past year. The fundraising included a special raffle, a garden fete, a sportsman’s dinner and a sponsored walk which were all supported by Members, family and friends. Enable (Baillieston) is a local charity helping young disabled people in the district.

Lodge Robert Burns No. 440.

Following the appeal at our last P.G.L. Communication, when a Brother of Lodge Robert Burns No. 440, advised the Brethren that he had in his possession, an Electric Wheelchair and wished to donate it to a Member or to a dependant of a Member with the Province, Mrs. Molly Stanfield, who is in her ninetieth year and is resident in a sheltered housing complex in Petersburn, Airdrie, was presented with the Wheelchair on Sunday 4th November 2007.

Lodge St. Bryde No. 579.

Members of Lodge St. Bryde No. 579 (including the Provincial Grand Master) took part in a Sponsored Walk from their Masonic Hall in Uddingston to the Masonic Hall in Baillieston. The walk raised £400 which Lodge St. Bryde matched, making a total £800 raised for the New Provincial Caravan from Lodge St. Bryde No. 579.

Adelphi Bluebell Lodge No. 4 of Free Gardeners.

Adelhi Bluebell Lodge No. 4 of Free Gardeners celebrated their fifth anniversary on 31st. October 2007 by making a fantastic donation of £500 to the Provincial Grand Lodge Caravan Fund.

Although the Order of Free Gardeners has no connection with Freemasonry the members of the Gardeners Lodge are fully aware of the good work that our Masonic Lodges do for Charity and are particularly interested in the Caravan Project.

Lodge 1096 were the winners of a raft race on the River Tay. The event organised by Bro. Stephen Campbell of Lodge Meridian No. 1779 raised £5,000 for the Benevolent Funds of Grand Lodge. 23rd. October 2007. Caravan Donation.

At the Regular Meeting of Lodge Bothwell Brig this evening Bro. Maurice Rickard, R.W.M. presented a £100 cheque for the Caravan Fund.

 

Charity cheques from New Stevenston lodge

Seven local non-Masonic charities have benefited to the tune of almost £1,800 from the proceeds of a Sportsman’s Dinner organised by Lodge Robert King Stewart No 919.

Cheques for £250 were presented by R.W.M. Bro Allan Thompson at a social evening in the Masonic Hall in New Stevenson to representatives of Wishaw Stroke Group, Parkinsons’ Self-Help Group, Capability Scotland, Voluntary Association for Mental Welfare, Lanarkshire Cancer Care and Alzheimer’s Scotland.

A further £290 was donated to St. Andrew’s Hospice as the result of the raffle of autographed Rangers, Celtic and Motherwell jerseys.

Bro. Steven Davis, Secretary of Lodge 573 reports on a fantastic summer Fund Raising campaign by the members and friends of the Lodge.

Two Fund Raising events, a charity dance and two days bag packing at Asda in Motherwell raised the wonderful sum of £2,650 for the CLIC Sargeant Fund.

Lodge Robert King Stewart No. 919.

 

Bro. Robert Patterson (W.J.W.) recently organised a charity bowling tournament at Newarthill Bowling Club which raised the sum of £270.00.

Two donations were made £140.00 to the Wishaw Stroke Group and £130.00 to Marcus Humphrey House for the purchase of a new wheelchair. In addition the Lodge donated a further £140.00 to purchase a second wheelchair for M.H.H.

 

8th. September 2007. – Charity Donation.

On a visit to The Pleydell Lodge No. 4687, Swindon , Bro. James L. Jack, P.G.M. was presented with a cheque for £200 for the Provincial Grand Lodge New Caravan Fund. The P.G.M. thanked W. Bro. Tom Dawson, Worthy Master of 4687 for this generous donation.

Provincial Grand Secretary, Bro. Bill Craig has received a further two Anonymous Donation of £100.00 and £20.00 for the New Masonic Caravan Fund Raiser.

Provincial Grand Secretary, Bro. Bill Craig has received an Anonymous Donation of £150 for the New Masonic Caravan Fund Raiser.

 

 

Lodge Hamilton No. 233.  

Recently Lodge Hamilton No 233 donated  a £100 cheque to Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland (Lanarkshire Branch).

Lodge St. Bryde No. 579.

Members and friends of Lodge St. Bryde No. 579, Uddingston completed their Annual Sponsored Walk in aid of Cancer Research. The traditional route is from the Lodge St. Bryde Masonic Hall in Uddingston to the Lodge Eastmuir No. 1126 Masonic Hall in Shettleston.

The total raised for Cancer Research was the fantastic sum of £1,700.

Bro. Norrie Telfer of Lodge St. Bryde is organising a Sponsored Walk on Sunday 14th. October 2007 at 12 noon from 579 Hall to Lodge Robert Burns No. 440 Hall in Baillieston. The proceeds of the walk will be donated to the Provincial Grand Lodge New Caravan Appeal. Anyone wish to take part in the walk or sponsor the event – contact P.G. Secretary.

An anonymous donation of £150.00 towards the New PGL Caravan was received by the PGL Secy from a Brother whose family have recently made use of the current PGL Caravan at Monkton.
