Lodge Livingstone St. Andrew No 573

"In the run up to Christmas the brethren of our lodge decided rather than give out Christmas cards they would donate the money which would traditionally be spent on purchasing the cards to charity.

The sum of £150.00 was raised this year and once more donated to the Help for Heroes charity. Many thanks go to Bro. Archie B. Nelson PM 551 and Bro. William H. Roe PM for their running of the collection".

 

MOVEMBER CHARITY

Bro. Bobby Ferguson PM (306) was sponsored during the month of November for this worthwhile Charity. He raised the sum of £469.00 in Sponsorship from Brethren in the Middle Ward.

The lodge recently made a presentation of £250.00 to the Salvation Army for their Appeal for the Homeless Aid Shelter over the Christmas period.

During the summer the brethren took part intheri Annual Sponsored Walk.  A great day was enjoyed by all and they managed to raise £1300 for various Charities.

Recently we went along to  Airdrie Hospice  to present them with a cheque  for £1000.00,accompanying RWM Bro David Russell were Bro Secretary Sandy Stewart PM, Jeff Spence PM, Bro Alex Ringrose, Bro Chaplain John Hamilton.

St Mary Coltness No 31

The Lodge Presented a cheque for £847.00 to Cancer Research U.K. raised when the Lodge members recently completed a Sponsored Walk.

Thursday 8thSeptember 2011.

Presentation of cheque - St.John's Primary School, Hamilton.

Bro. Tom Davidson , Provincial Grand Master accompanied Provost Russell Clearie (South Lanarkshire Council) and Bro. William Craig, Provincial Grand Secretary on a visit to The Additional Support Needs Unit at St.John's Primary School in Hamilton today, he presented a cheque Mrs. Alison Hope the Headteacher on behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Lanarkshire Middle Ward. Some of the children from the school joined them in the  for the presentation. The Headteacher conducted the visiting party on a tour of the school to witness the excellent work being carried out with the children.

 

St. Mary Coltness No 31

Bro Alasdair Menzies J.D. of Lodge St Mary Coltness No 31 recently undertook a Bungee jump on behalf of M.S. Trust which have two branches, one undertakes research into M.S. and receive some Government funding the other branch is Revive M.S. Support helps families and M.S. sufferers to attend hospitals and physio appointments and is 100% self supporting.
Alasdair raised £1,000 and donated this to Revive.Alasdair's efforts raised the total of £1,000.00 and can be seen below resenting the cheque. 

 

 

Motherwell Caledonian No 1228

To mark the occasion of Bob Stirling receiving his new Guide Dog (Merlin), the Lodge presented a cheque for £200.00 to Guide  Dogs for the Blind.

 

Item which may be of interest for the Provincial website features Bob Stirling at 1228 and lodge donation of £200 to help sponsor training a guide dog for the blind to make the occasion of Bob getting his new guide dog Merlin.

Presentation of cheque - Firpark School, Motherwell.

Bro. Tom Davidson , Provincial Grand Master accompanied Provost Tom Curley (North Lanarkshire Council) and Christine Pollock (Executive Director of Learning and Leisure Services for North lanarkshire Council) on a visit to Firpark School in Motherwell today, he presented a cheque Margaret Reilly the Headteacher on behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Lanarkshire Middle Ward. Some of the children from the school joined them in the courtyard garden for the presentation.

NON-MASONIC CHARITY.

Fantastic ! Bro. William Buchanan, Right Worshipful Master of Lodge Old Monkland St. James No. 177 presents a cheque for £11, 283.00 to representatives of Yorkhill Hospital. This is a tremendous fund raising effort and the members of the Lodge are to be congratulated.

The Lodge gave cheques totalling £1,800 to the following Charities,

Marie Curie Cancer Care, Guide Dogs Scotland, St. Andrew`s Hospice, Lanarkshire Cancer Care, Yorkhill Childrens Foundation, 

MND Scotland, MacMillan Cancer Support, Meningitis Research Foundation, The Mungo Foundation.

Lodge St. Enoch No. 1288 presented a cheque for £200 to the Lanarkshire Kidney Patients Association. The Association is based at Monklands Hospital .
